Im happy to announce Kate is launching her new range on 30th April. I have already seen some key peices which involve tassels, sequins and a lot of glamour. Inspired by her vintage wardrobe this will be a real sense of her must have style. It is safe to say I'm excited!

Business Cards

I was searching for ideas and this business card is that little bit different from the rest. It's a scratch off business card. I want mine to be clean, simple and a concept about me. This got me thinking how I can show off my talent on my business card, I like the idea of having my own QR code on the back which goes straight to my portfolio and about me page from my website :)  
“It’s printed on 110lb Neenah Classic Crest paper. Scratch off ink is actually very expensive and requires a large run, so I worked with Brunner Printing to find an alternative. We ended up hitting it with a clear varnish first, then hitting it again with a foil. This gave it the appearance and characteristics of scratch-off ink, with a significantly lower price tag.” see her webiste here 

Heres my stamp collection which I should put to good use in my collage's they were my dad's from a little boy so their are some pretty old ones. . .

Collage artist uses old photographs and mixed media paper. Her blog Collagelab features her work where she sells it on Etsy. I seem to pick out the collage's with butterfly's.

A new collage artist I found today, you can see her blog called curbside treasure where she sells her work. I like the use of old stamps in her work I have a collection of stamps which I should put into good use.

Collage Artist, working mediums include acrylic, oil pastel, pencil, solvent transfers and acrylic transfers. His work is highly layered with textures with a weathered quality. Here are some samples I liked.

BLACK SWAN

I went to see this movie on the 3rd of Feb in Chester and it was amazing!!! It was about Ballet the Black Swan where the girl falls in love with a Prince who falls for the wrong girl and she kills herself....
It was not was I thought it was going to be like the lesbian scenes for example and the weird scenes which made me very tense in my seat. But I thoroughly enjoyed it and definately watch it again.

It's been a while!

Okay I haven't blogged for some time now and I feel awful.. I have been ever so busy working full time sometimes 50 hours a week but it's good to be earning again. To make up for the time lost here's something I found and thought were so cute! x

I have been lucky enough to visit Paris it was an amazing place, even went to the top of the Eiffel tower. Was especially special cos I went there around Valentines day..love in the air...

This was my tiny workspace I had to make do at uni. compact little corner and my macbook seems to be missing! x

Okay...it's been a while since I last blogged but I have had a very busy summer and now it's over...I went on holiday to Kusadasi in Turkey it was so lovely and very hot some days 40 degrees but our hotel had a waterpark with over 35 slides so somehow I coped. Enjoy the photos I took  :)  

Rock, Paper, Scissors!

For Blanket magazine to design a poster using rock, paper or scissors as a theme. I chose rock.

 

Vogue through the era's of the 20th Century

I have designed four posters which would fit on a front cover of vogue in different eras of the 20th Century. Here are punk, hippy, sixties, romantic era's. My fave is the punk one, each style is to fit the era it was from. 

 

Look what I found!

I had a talk with Sue and Hitch today about my illustration project, they said its not quite there yet and is lacking more character of the era such as my poster for vogue in the punk era. I went by the library today to find a brand new book on patterns it has retro to conversational patterns-totally inspired me today! The book design itself is gorgeous with a velvet cover.  

Don't Panic-Vogue

I designed a poster for a recent issue using the word vogue for Don't Panic. My piece for Don't Panic has been hand drawn with pen and felt tips to give this energetic feel. Vogue to me like the name of the top fashion magazine is all about glamour, models, something which goes into fashion for a short period of time. The poster is modern and hint of glamour in there.
